- 1994 to 1999 studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg – well above average first state examination after the 8th semester
- 1997 semester abroad at the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague
- 1999 to 2001 legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court in Nuremberg – well above average 2nd state examination
- 2001 Admission to the German bar, registered with the RAK Karlsruhe
- 2002 Admission to the Czech Bar
- 2002 worked in an international law firm in Prague
- 2002 Founding of the international law firm AK MATAS
- 2005 Doctorate as JUDr. at the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague
