NEWSLETTER 06-2022: THE GERMAN SUPPLY CHAIN ACT
The year 2022 is a big challenge for companies. Climate change, the energy crisis and the shortage of skilled workers are putting considerable strain on the domestic entrepreneurial landscape.
However, 2022 will also be the last year in which domestic companies do not have to pay particular attention to their supply chains. Although this does not (yet) apply directly to (all) Austrian companies, it does apply to all those Austrian companies that directly or indirectly supply to larger companies in Germany.
On January 1st, 2023, the Law on Corporate Due Diligence in Supply Chains (Supply Chain Act) will come into force in Germany. This will introduce new compliance requirements in Germany with the aim of preventing violations of human rights. These new requirements will not only be felt in Germany, but also in Austria.
We can tell you in our latest newsletter what significant effects the German supply chain law could have in Austria.
