With the so-called “Crowdfunding Act”, the legislature tried to create a legal framework for the topic of crowdfunding or crowdfunding. The aim was, on the one hand, to guarantee adequate investor protection but also legal certainty for platform operators and issuers.

 

The Alternative Financing Act (AltFG) came into force on September 1st, 2015 (see our newsletter 06-2015). This took the first steps towards creating a legal framework around the topic of crowdfunding and created standards for information obligations, particularly in the interests of investor protection.
